It is Possible Now – Building Muscle without Weights
Many people are asking if there are programs for building muscle without weights. Although most people assume that you can only achieve your ideal muscle mass through free weights and machine weights, there are actually other ways to train without using them.
A lot of people want to go through weight training exercises to have large muscles, but it’s either they can’t afford to go to a gym, or they simply don’t have time to do so. For people who can’t afford to go to a gym or is refusing to go to one, it’s back to good old military training. It is the best way in building muscle without weights. Since you didn’t sign up to any military operation, of course, these are only simple methods you can use to help you achieve muscle mass.
All you need is a flat space and to take your friend with you. Do the push up position. As for your friend, ask him to sit on your back. You can do 2 to 3 sets with 5 to 10 reps. Take note: try to find someone who is average-sized. Don’t bring someone whom you think you can never carry on your back. Once you feel comfortable doing these push ups with a person on your back, you can get someone heavier already. This type of push up is a great way to building muscle without weights. This is a good alternative for the bench press, especially if you do it with maximum intensity.
Another way is to go to the beach. You don’t need to bring someone for this method as you can do it yourself. Just find a good sandy area, then sprint over it. After doing so, sprint over it again. Do this exercise over and over again. Of course, if you feel like an old man in his 70s sprinting over, it’s time to stop. This exercise can help build leg muscles, especially the calves. You can do this for a few weeks.
Another method is by increasing your intake of protein, especially whey protein. This type of protein is actually a favorite among successful athletes. They have quality proteins which can be very beneficial to body builders. They also don’t have high saturated fat content which you normally get when you eat eggs and beef.
Whey is actually one of milk’s two major sources. The other is casein protein. This type of protein is the one that gets filtered out when you make cheese. The reason why whey protein is valuable to body builders is because they are easily digested and used by the body. Aside from the high biological value, they are noted as very efficient protein. They are also rich in amino acids which are very critical to the development and sustenance of new muscle mass.
Whey protein also plays a positive impact on the immune system of body builders. Since vigorous exercises can put the body in tremendous stress, the immune system has a tendency to weaken – resulting to minor health maladies like sore throat. Serious problems can also arise. For this reason, whey protein is known to increase glutathione (a major antioxidant of the body) levels.
These are only some of the effective ways to building muscle without weights. After all, a long time ago, our ancestors didn’t have weights to keep them fit. However, they have all the space they need to do various types of exercises like running, swimming and climbing. These too, when done correctly can help in building muscle mass.
